Hirsutism & My IPL Hair Removal Journey: Week 3 Results

Hirsutism & My IPL Hair Removal Journey: Week 3 Results

Hirsutism is a common and often frustrating symptom of PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome), and for many of us, it can be a major source of self-consciousness. Dealing with excessive facial and body hair can impact both our appearance and confidence, which is why I decided to start my journey with IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) hair removal. This week marks the 3-week update on my journey using the Pore Little Thing's Glow Getter IPL device, and I’m already seeing some promising results. If you missed my earlier posts on why I started this journey and my Week 1 update, be sure to check them out for context!

Why I Decided to Try IPL for Hirsutism

Hirsutism, the excessive hair growth that many with PCOS face, can be one of the most challenging symptoms to manage. For me, shaving and waxing never quite seemed to keep up with the speed at which the hair would grow back, and I wanted a more lasting solution. That’s when I turned to Pore Little Thing’s Glow Getter IPL device. IPL targets the hair follicles, helping to reduce hair growth over time, making it an effective PCOS treatment for hirsutism. I’m excited to share my Week 3 results and how things are progressing.

Week 3 Results: Progress Despite a Late Start

Alright, guys—Week 3 results are in! Life got in the way, and I didn’t get to shave and use my IPL device until Wednesday, so this week’s results are based on just four days of treatment. Even with that shorter timeframe, I’m still impressed. Normally, my facial hair would have grown a lot more by now, but after using the Glow Getter IPL, I noticed a significant slowdown in hair growth. While the results are still subtle, they are definitely promising.

Though it’s still early—only three weeks into my journey—I’m feeling very encouraged. The prickliness is still there, but nowhere near as noticeable as it was before starting this treatment. The 3–4 week mark is typically when you start to see real changes, and I can already tell that this is working.

IPL Treatment: A Game-Changing PCOS Treatment for Hirsutism

Using Pore Little Thing’s Glow Getter IPL device has truly felt like a game-changer. Managing hirsutism with PCOS is a challenge, and finding a treatment that actually works has been a priority for me. IPL works by emitting light energy that targets the hair follicles, and it’s been especially effective for me in slowing down hair growth. After using the device for just a few weeks, I’ve noticed the hair isn’t growing back as quickly, and it’s definitely thinning out.

While IPL treatment requires consistency, it’s a great option for those dealing with hirsutism and seeking a longer-term solution. I’ve been using the device once a week, and I’m already seeing signs of improvement, which is so encouraging.

Before and After Photos: Week 3 Update

As promised, here are my before and after photos from Week 3. While the difference isn’t drastic yet, I’m seeing a reduction in the thickness and speed of my hair growth. It’s still a little prickly in certain spots, but compared to before, I’m noticing a positive change. This is just the beginning!

It's not perfect YET, but the fact that the hair is growing slower and thinner is exactly what I’ve been hoping for.

Looking Ahead: Week 4 Check-in

I’m approaching my 4-week check-in next week, and I’m excited to see how my skin and hair respond after another week of IPL use. It’s around this time that you typically start seeing more noticeable results, and I’m hopeful that my progress will continue. I’ll keep using Pore Little Thing’s Glow Getter IPL and share an update on how things are going.
